People should not throw rubbish in the sea

People should never throw rubbish in the sea because the rubbish will be in the sea for a long, long time and no one will clean it up.

It is also not good to put rubbish in the drains and the sewage pipes because that rubbish will end up in the sea.

Rubbish thrown in the sea will also create poisonous toxins which kill sea creatures and fish in the sea and then people will not be able to eat any seafood from the sea. 

Trees for the birds

What was the goal?

The goal was to plant 600 kowhai trees in one day.
How did they travel to Tiritiri Matangi?
They travelled by boat.
How long did they take to travel there?
It took them an hour an half.
Why are they having this planting project?
To help the birds have a place to stay
What was the first thing they had to do before planting the trees?
They explained the information about trees and why they are important

Why are trees good for birds?Because trees help birds breed and have nests so new birds can be born.

The trees they planted were Kowhai trees

My Reflection of 2013

This year was cool year for me because I started using a chromebook  as tool in the classroom.  I was excited to use it this year. The thought of doing so many cool things on my chromebook was really interesting, but it took me some time to really start using it effectively and correctly. There were so many things to learn and I tried my hardest to learn as much as I could from my teacher, whanau and friends.

These are my reflections on what I did.

My Netbook Reflection

My Name in Dasharn and I am a year 5 student at Glenbrae School. My Teacher is Mr Nath. This year has been one very interesting and eventful year. I got my chromebook this year and began using it as a tool in the class room although it was hard at first, i got the hang of it and it was way faster than using a pen and paper.

l have learn cyber safety, Accessing the class site, blogging, keyboard shortcuts,  using google applications like google presentations, creating new folders and documents, using tools, taking screen shots, using Sumo paint.

l have learnt to go on my smart digital footprint.  learnt how to learn to write with all my fingers. I learnt how to screenshot my photos. I learnt how to go to the right sites. l have learnt lots of things on my netbook like how get our work off our class sites, how to use the internet safely and how to create a whole lot of different things through google drive. I enjoy blogging my work on to my personal blog created by the school for my work only.

On our netbooks we learnt if our whole classroom goes off task on your netbook we will get trouble because they go on your history then you get your netbook taken off you. I learnt how go on to our work fast and finish it quickly. Some teachers taught us how to use the keyboard so we can get better at typing and when we get older we can type faster.

Our Glittering Baby

This story is about Sharon’s new born baby sister named Maisie.

When Brendan's mum had a baby,  Dad rushed back home to tell the family about it. Then Dad went back to the hospital. He said the baby looked  just like them.  Then the children made a card for their new baby sister.

The Characters in the story are Nana, Brendan, Sharon, Mum, Dad and the hospital people.

This Story Takes place In the hospital and at home.

I like Story because it is exciting and it reminds me about babies.

My Interesting Holidays

My Holidays

During my term 2  holidays, I went to Panmure for rock climbing. At the rock climbing I challenged my brother. After that my family went to the  Snow Planet in North Shore.

At the Snow Planet, I went  on a snowboard and I used the ski sticks. Then I went for a ride up the snow ramps.

After that we all  went home and had a rest.

Then  all of us had a snack.  In the night we went to the museum. At the museum we had to look for all the people that were working at the museum. We played a guessing game with each other.

When it was time for us come back home, we got in the car and went home. The museum trip was an enjoyable one.
